The full story
60FPSVideo began as a feasibility study. The author used REA to analyse SVP 4 Mac, a frame-interpolation app, and asked whether a native Apple Silicon equivalent was possible. It was, without copying SVP's engine. Apple's own VideoToolbox interpolation ran in real time at 1080p on an M2 Max.
The result is a native macOS app that turns film and other footage into smooth 59.94 fps, up to 4K HDR, with a real-time player and a batch converter.
