A 3D printed desk lamp built to spec by Claude Code
Claude Code designed a 3D printed lamp from a reference photo, planned it around IKEA parts in stock locally and had a test plate printed to check sizes.
The full story
A long-time Claude Code user with little modelling experience wanted a warm desk lamp like one seen online and could not find a model, so they asked Claude Code to build it to spec. It reviewed the reference image, checked local stores for parts and planned around an IKEA cord set and LED bulb.
It asked the maker for heights and widths it could not find, and even had a tiny measurement plate printed to check the diameter it needed. The maker shared the finished lamp.
