The full story
Spectral-G4 designed a complete four-layer PCB with 184 components using Claude Opus 5.5 and KiCad. The point was a closed loop: design, inspect, fix, verify. Claude changed the design through the Konnect MCP server, while a separate open-source tool, pcb-inspector, checked the board independently rather than trusting the AI.
The checks covered design rules, decoupling, power traces, differential pairs, switching loops and ground reference, plus visual inspection of the board.
