A car that asks Home Assistant who is parked outside
Claude built a Python MCP server behind a Cloudflare tunnel so a car assistant can query Home Assistant and Frigate cameras.
The full story
The maker wanted to ask their car whether anyone is parked in front of the house. Claude planned the setup, checked the Cloudflare tunnel had been built correctly alongside the maker's other tunnels, wrote an MCP server in Python on the home network and wrote tests. A request goes through the tunnel to Home Assistant, which checks the Frigate camera feed using zones.
It is read-only for now, though the maker expects it to scale to other sensors. There is no repository, as the post describes it as a process.
