The full story
A developer built S.T.F.U (Sound Trigger Focus Utility), a Windows tray app, because their son yells while gaming at midnight. It calibrates by asking him to be quiet, talk and yell, then on a yell minimises the game and shows a fullscreen message with a close button that moves after each click.
Settings are PIN-protected and a report charts every trigger. The poster stresses that he knows it is there, it is not hidden, and no audio is recorded; it only computes a loudness number every 20ms.
