The full story
Reginald is an ESP32-S3 that fetches the latest Toronto Blue Jays game from MLB's public stats API and shows it on a 2-inch colour screen.
The live game feed can exceed 1 MB, and streaming parsing was too awkward, so the maker chose an ESP32-S3 Supermini board with 2 MB of PSRAM to hold it whole. They warn it may crash if a long game makes the feed too big. It builds with pioarduino, a PlatformIO fork, and points at a local time server that others should change.
The code is part of a larger device with buttons, a light sensor and a speaker, released on its own for anyone who just wants the scoreboard.
