A family watchlist site that turns on the TV and opens the next episode

Claude Code wired a watchlist web page to a Google TV Streamer so tapping a show wakes the TV and launches the next episode in Stremio.

The full story

The poster's family watchlist is a web page built from markdown lists, matched against Simkl for posters and watch progress. They added a TV icon to each card: tapping it turns the TV on if needed and opens Stremio on the Google TV Streamer, to the movie page or the next unwatched episode of a show.

The tap posts to a small Cloud Run function, which sends a message through Google Pub/Sub to a listener on a Mac mini. That talks to the Streamer using the Android TV Remote protocol. Because the Mac mini only listens outward, no ports are forwarded. The poster tested it from a phone with Tailscale and wifi off, and says Claude Code wrote the architecture code.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count). The Claude connector only receives the search words your Claude sends it.
