The full story
Three sourdough starters had died because the poster forgot to feed them, so they built a Home Assistant integration to track it. It can be installed through HACS and follows a recipe they found on Instagram.
They used Claude Code to build it, leaning on 25 years of software experience to guide it, with pull requests and manual review before any code was merged. They say Claude helped them build in hours what would otherwise have taken much longer.
