The full story
The maker wanted to drive along the Hong Kong street where they grew up. With Claude writing Python scripts and the maker testing each result, government terrain and textured-building data were brought through Blender into Assetto Corsa.
The first track was 100 times too large, the car spawned upside down and materials rendered incorrectly. Fixes included export-scale and start-axis corrections, a Custom Shaders Patch material configuration and terrain chunks below ksEditor's 65,536-vertex limit.
The resulting script gets most of the way from the source data to a drivable track. The maker still has to set variables and use ksEditor to import the Blender model, and detail was reduced to fit the tool's limits.
Before and after
- Starting problem
- Earlier attempts to bring the government 3D data into the racing game had failed.
- Reported result
- A drivable track with a partly manual import process and reduced scene detail.
