A JavaScript-to-WebAssembly compiler with measured speedups
After another model said it wasn't feasible, Claude wrote a compiler turning JavaScript kernels into WebAssembly, benchmarked at up to 14.5 times faster.

The full story
Another LLM told the maker that translating JavaScript line by line into WebAssembly for a speed-up was generally not feasible. Annoyed, they asked Claude to write a compiler that does exactly that for kernel-style functions.
The maker's own results show a progressive path trace dropping from 1,375 ms in hand-written JavaScript to 95 ms (14.5 times faster), with roughly four to four and a half times speed-ups on Sobel edge detection, Monte Carlo, an RK4 solver and the Game of Life. A live benchmark lets people run it on their own devices.
