The full story
The maker wrongly remembered Breath of the Wild on Wii U having a second-screen map, so built one with Claude. It shows a zoomable world map of three things not yet discovered: shrines, koroks and chests.
The "app" is a kiosk browser pointed at a web service on the local network, with Syncthing running on the host and the console so the service can read the save file. The map updates live while playing as long as Syncthing is running. The maker would ideally have made a native Android app that reads device storage directly, but left that, as this works fine.
