A video editor on a Mac needed to search assets across two external drives without searching the internal SSD. A macOS bug, reported since September 2025 and hitting the poster after an update, also left the mds and mdworker processes stuck in an endless loop.
The poster used Claude Code to work on both problems. The visible part of the post does not say exactly what the fix was or how well it worked.
