A machine learning model that estimates glasses prescriptions
An ophthalmologist trained a model on about 10,000 Amsler Grid photos taken through lenses, using Claude Code for the capture program, training and app.
The full story
An ophthalmologist wanted a quick estimate of someone's glasses prescription while on call. They took about 10,000 images of an Amsler Grid through various lenses.
Claude Code wrote the image acquisition program, helped create a standardised Amsler Grid to photograph, trained the machine learning model and built an app with it that was launched on the App Store. A video of it in use is linked from the post.
