The full story
In northern Norway, the poster wondered what conditions made mosquitoes so bad and decided to make a "mosquito index". They asked Claude to look into the science, and after discussion and "stern corrections", they settled on temperature, wind, light, time of day, hours since rain and season for the local species.
The result is a sensor giving a 0 to 100 score for how good conditions are for mosquitoes. It has worked fairly well, but they found local mosquitoes only really go away when it is windy, so it is less useful than they hoped.
