The full story
The poster's 2018 Mi TV 4a (1GB RAM, Android 9) was unusable under its stock PatchWall launcher. An attempt to debloat it with Gemini left it with a black screen on boot and no launcher or settings.
They gave Claude Code the Gemini thread plus ADB over wifi, and it found what was broken in a few minutes. They then had Claude write a new Apple TV-style launcher with HDMI inputs and five apps, which leaves about 450MB free at idle. It is open source and has only been tested on that one TV.
