The full story
A developer making a 3D graphics app called Tripmunk 3D Studio had no 3D monitor to test its side-by-side 3D modes, so they had Claude help write Nintendo 3DS homebrew that turns the handheld into a live 3D display. The touchpad rotates the scene cameras and the directional pad changes the speed of the shader loop.
They also added an 800x240 side-by-side MJPEG option so beat-synced 3D videos can be transcoded to play on the 3DS, which already works. It worked "WAY better" than expected, and they plan to ship the homebrew app with the software.
