The full story
The poster got tired of digging through drawers of unlabelled components and re-ordering parts they already had, so built inv2digikey with Claude Code. It is a mobile-first, self-hosted inventory app for electronic parts.
Pointing a phone camera at a bag reads DigiKey 2D Data Matrix labels, QR codes and standard barcodes, and fills in part number, manufacturer, quantity and description. It also tracks bin locations and low stock, links to DigiKey pages, and offers JSON backup, CSV export and multiple user accounts.
