The full story
The maker built a teaching assistant around their own Python course notes, using Voyage embeddings, PostgreSQL with pgvector and Claude answers with citations. A first question about functions exposed a missing definition in the notes.
After correcting that gap and other examples, the maker re-ingested the documents. The app is deployed on Render with its database on Supabase. The article explains that a similarity threshold filters clearly unrelated questions but does not prove the notes contain an answer.
