The full story
The maker has a GaggiMate, an ESP32 mod for Gaggia machines that logs pressure, flow, temperature and puck resistance for every shot. After months of guessing from the graphs, he used Claude Code to build a service on a Pi that sends each new shot to Claude and gets back a score and what to change next.
Reviews and drafted brew profiles come back as validated structured objects, and he clamps them to hardware-safe limits before they can touch the boiler. Sonnet handles routine reviews at about a cent each, Opus drafts new profiles, and Claude is also shown its own earlier advice next to the shots that followed.
