The full story
Written in Spanish, this post describes a project made with Claude Pro to replace the Solax Pocket Wi-Fi 2.0 dongle, tested on a Solax X3-5.0-T-D 5kW solar inverter. An ESP32 acts as a sniffer, reading the inverter's hexadecimal data frames and converting them into readings, which the post calls reverse engineering.
The ESP32 sends a daily email at 10pm with the data and uploads readings to Firebase every five seconds, where an Android app shows them. The whole project is in Spanish and shared on GitHub for free.
