The full story
The poster, a general software engineer, built an atlas that renders objects at measured size, distance and speed, from the cosmic web down to quarks. It uses real Gaia DR3 stars, 2.6 million SDSS galaxies, planets on real orbits and live satellites.
They say it took a bit over a week with Claude Code, with 92 merged PRs and about 14.5k lines of TypeScript and WGSL, and no runtime dependencies. Claude wrote essentially all the code, including orbital mechanics, satellite propagation and data pipelines, and diagnosed bugs from a URL; the poster reviewed and merged everything and flew around finding bugs.
