The poster has children under five and was unhappy with the strange, AI-generated videos YouTube for Kids kept recommending. YouTube does not let you whitelist videos, so they made a web app with Claude that displays only a curated list of URLs kept in a JSON file.
It has a timer that stops playback after a set time, live search, categories, a randomiser on the landing page, and deletion of videos behind a maths puzzle. The poster says it looks like the YouTube app. Adding videos is the slow part, since channels cannot be added, only specific videos.
