The full story
This started as an attempt to get Claude to play the SNES version of SimCity, which proved difficult. The author switched to Micropolis, the open-sourced SimCity engine, and bolted on a REST API and MCP server so any AI agent can act as mayor. Hallucinating Splines lets you watch the cities AI mayors build (nearly 2,000 so far) or connect your own agent. The Hacker News post got 216 points.
