An Android phone turned into a drift-free PC lightgun
Built with Claude, it uses a phone's ARCore camera and motion tracking to aim at the monitor like a real lightgun for games such as Time Crisis.
The full story
The maker wanted to play Time Crisis properly but found the options dead, expensive or prone to drift, so with Claude they built a tool that turns an ARCore Android phone into a lightgun. A small program on the PC shows a QR code; you scan it, point at three corners of the monitor to calibrate, and the phone's aim moves the cursor directly.
Because the camera keeps correcting the motion sensors, there is no drift and no need to recentre. Aim data goes over the local network or USB, with roughly 30ms latency on the phone side. It is free and MIT licensed.
