Worked Proof shown

Claude Code turned an architect's PDF drawings into a first-person 3D model in Chrome, with a tape measure and a sun model that showed the ground floor is darker.

The full story

The maker's house is being rebuilt and they couldn't make sense of the floor plans, so they spent an evening with Claude Code turning the architect's PDFs into something they could walk around in Chrome. It is built from the drawings, so the walls and rooms match the architect's schedule.

You can walk through in first person, switch elevations, check clearances with a tape measure before buying furniture, and pick an hour to see where sunlight lands for the home's coordinates. That is how they found the ground floor is darker than they assumed. Pinned comments go to a JSON file that Claude watches, replies to and acts on.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count).
