Claude Code running on an Android phone (Termux, no root)
A community project installs Claude Code inside Termux on a stock Android phone, with no root, emulator or cloud VM. It turns a phone into a working coding terminal without changing the operating system.
The full story
This community project runs Claude Code directly on an Android phone: no root, no cloud server and no computer needed. The quick path uses the Termux terminal app (from F-Droid or GitHub, not Google Play) on any 64-bit phone. A one-line installer asks two questions and sets everything up. A second path uses Android's built-in virtualisation for a fuller Debian system, and older Android 8 to 10 phones get a pinned installer.
The repository includes a list of tested devices, notes on security, troubleshooting and recovery steps, and an FAQ. You need a Claude subscription or an API account.
Community project; setup depends on the phone and Android version.
