The full story
A team inherited a decade-old Yii2 PHP codebase that two earlier teams had failed to modernise, and couldn't estimate the work because nobody understood how it worked. The author vibe-coded CodeCompass, a code-intelligence tool that maps and explains a legacy system, so the team could finally plan the project. A filtered public version is on GitHub.
