The full story
The plugs had been abandoned after an Android update stopped supporting their app. The poster asked Claude whether it could detect their wireless signal, and it used the desktop's Wi-Fi card to do so.
About 15 or 20 minutes later Claude reported the plugs were working again with direct control and no app. It then built a desktop widget, which now gives a remote switch and power monitoring for whatever is plugged in.
