The full story

DiskLens is a disk-usage analyser for Windows 11 in the spirit of WinDirStat. It has a treemap of your drive, a folder tree, file types, largest files, duplicate finding and cleanup tools, with a Rust engine and a Fluent-style Tauri and Svelte interface.

The author is upfront that Claude wrote all of it through Claude Code, in one long session on 13 October 2026, with REA used for reverse engineering. They described what they wanted and reported problems, but never read the code. Since it can delete and move files, they ask you to treat it as an experiment.

Before and after

Starting problem
The author wanted a disk analyser with WinDirStat-style features and a different interface.
Reported result
A Rust, Tauri and Svelte app with drive visualisation and duplicate finding.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count).
