The full story

The maker owned a mix of premium and budget Bluetooth speakers from different brands and wanted to stream to all of them at once rather than buy a Wi-Fi system. They realised the real problem was the different latency of each speaker, and over two weeks of spare time built echo•mux with Claude, which they say let them follow test-driven development for once.

It turns their two Raspberry Pis into a multi-room Bluetooth hub controlled from a mobile-first web UI, with per-speaker latency alignment and Spotify Connect support, plus cheap extra Bluetooth antennas to reach the garden. Getting it reliable was "hell": a bug in the current repository version of BlueZ made streaming to several devices impossible, and audio sync and the UI were hard too. They say it now works perfectly for their needs.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count).
