Emergent is an artificial-life simulator in a single HTML file of about 1,400 lines (around 50 KB), built with Claude Opus 4.6. The author asked for "software that didn't exist before", with no libraries and no questions. The first attempt was a barely working Photoshop clone, so they pushed back, and Claude produced this Game of Life-style world instead.
