The full story
ESPHome builds that package nRF52 DFU firmware, including the nRF52840 dongle configuration, failed after compilation when Nordic replaced an unversioned nrfutil download on 5 November. Its size no longer matched the launcher version ESPHome had pinned.
The contributor used a versioned Nordic filename instead and reports checking the existing size and digest against all five supported host downloads. The change includes tests and was merged into ESPHome on 5 November. The pull request explicitly credits Claude Code; it does not establish which later ESPHome release includes the patch.
