Esteban is a Linux launcher modelled on Alfred 5 for Mac. A hotkey opens a results box, typing filters it, and Enter runs the action. It was written in Python from REA evidence about the Mac app's features, database layout, sizes and behaviour, with nothing copied. It adapts to your desktop: layer-shell on wlroots-based compositors including COSMIC, a plain window on GNOME, and a terminal fallback with no display.
