The full story
An owner wanted to turn a spare Samsung Galaxy A10e into a pet camera by installing LineageOS, as they had done on two Galaxy Tab A8 tablets. This carrier model's bootloader is locked and the unlock option is switched off, so that wasn't possible.
Curious why, they had Claude Code read the phone's firmware with REA, mostly using Opus with Sonnet helpers. The real barrier is the locked bootloader combined with verified boot. Claude also made a mistake along the way, which a separate "blind" review session caught. A later review toned down some overconfident claims about verified boot, Knox Guard and the Heimdall flashing tool. The phone will run a camera app on stock Android instead.
