The full story
Over several weeks the maker let Claude Code do high-level hardware work on a multi-board project with motors, dozens of sensors and a custom enclosure: circuit boards, enclosures, firmware, wiring harnesses and part selection.
Boards are Python scripts that generate fabrication files only once electrical and design rule checks pass and every part is confirmed in stock at LCSC. Firmware is tested against a virtual twin in Isaac Sim or Unreal before any parts are bought, and weight and balance are checked on every CAD change. Claude can generate hundreds of variations of a part and simulate them overnight; the maker has about 800 GB of simulation data after a few weeks.
The maker stripped out the project itself and open sourced the method along with a Claude Code skill that sets it up. The claim that the simulation is within about an order of magnitude of reality is the maker's own estimate.
