Partly Proof shown

Modern Warfare 2 engine port to iPhone, partly working

Claude worked through a Linux server and macOS CI runners to port the IW4L Rust engine to iOS; menus and a PS4 controller work but map loading runs out of memory.

The full story

The poster tried to get IW4L, an open-source Rust/Bevy engine that runs Modern Warfare 2 from your own game files, running natively on an iPhone. With no Mac, Claude read the repo, wrote fixes and debugged, using GitHub Actions macOS runners to build unsigned IPAs that were sideloaded with SideStore and the logs sent back.

Claude gated off the unsupported file picker crate, fixed a Metal surface panic off the main thread, and wrote a bridge to Apple's GameController framework so a PS4 controller works. Menus load, but loading a match map gets the app killed for using around 3 GB of memory, and the cause was still being hunted.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.

Privacy. No accounts. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) only if you accept them; no ads or cross-site tracking. Searches are counted anonymously (just the words) to show what's popular, and so are clicks on Ask Claude (just the count).
