The full story
Given the open-source REA tool and one question, how Obsidian's Quick Switcher decides which note comes first, Claude Code mapped the app, said plainly that the map covered its wiring rather than the search code, then unpacked Obsidian and read the minified code itself.
The answer: each note gets one score where zero is perfect, scattered letters cost a full point, and file names beat folder paths. Claude then wrote its own version and tested it against Obsidian's on about 19,800 random searches with no mismatches. It took 5 minutes 43 seconds.
