The full story

MeshLive lets phones make voice and video calls and relay live streams across nearby phones over Bluetooth, with no internet, servers or accounts. The maker says AI wrote much of the initial implementation, covering the media pipeline, Bluetooth handling, UI and early relay logic.

The harder part was Bluetooth behaving differently across manufacturers, Android versions and chipsets, with video backing up behind slow hops and connections dropping, so the maker bought another phone to test. The beta is still limited: relayed calls are experimental, some device pairs are problematic and security has not been audited.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.
