The full story
Four days into using Home Assistant, the poster credits Claude with helping bring their energy setup to life. It manages a 12 kWp solar system with a SolaX X3-Hybrid G4 inverter, 34 kWh of battery storage and a SolaX EV charger, with the inverter controlled locally over Modbus TCP on time-of-use pricing.
The automations include battery management to maximise self-consumption, solar forecasting for battery optimisation and BMS calibration, EV charging from excess solar, dishwasher scheduling on solar surplus, peak grid alerts and daily energy reports. The dashboard is built entirely in Home Assistant's native system.
