star-history.com revived after GitHub restricted its stargazer API

The full story
The original star-history service was dying because GitHub deprecated the API it relied on, so READMEs using it showed dead links and images. The poster forked the project and replaced the way it retrieves data, so it gives the same experience as before with no API token needed.
The code is public and the poster hosts the service for free and says they will maintain it. Moving over is a matter of changing the domain name.
