During a UK lockdown, a family built a new exercise wheel tracker for their hamster to answer a simple question: how fast and how far does a hamster run? A sensor on the wheel feeds Home Assistant, which logs the night-time running. The 2020 post predates today's AI tools, and Claude isn't mentioned in it.
