The full story
The poster had run Home Assistant for three years on "if it works, don't touch it" and could not tell which of three duplicate presence automations was running; none worked properly. They set up Claude Code on their laptop with MCP servers pointed at their instance and let it go through the config.
It found notifications still going to a Pixel 6a replaced two years earlier, a 636-line kitchen blinds automation they did not remember writing, 1,637 disabled entities and duplicate integrations. The Pixel turned out to be their wife's phone, which meant they had been debugging the wrong device for months. They wrote up the audit and the system they built to avoid repeating it.
