The full story
urlx is a memory-safe, from-scratch Rust reimplementation of curl and libcurl, built by an AI coding agent. It uses no OpenSSL and no unsafe code outside the C interface, and passes 1,300 of curl's own tests. It follows the same author's libxml2 rewrite, xmloxide, and was inspired by AI labs' experiments with agents building a browser and a C compiler.
