The full story

Yanyu (研屿) is an open-source project that studied parts of the AlphaPai financial-research client with REA, then used Codex to build its own versions of selected workflows. These include uploading and searching documents, reading PDFs, references, research plans, and meeting and recording workflows.

The authors are careful about its limits. It doesn't reproduce AlphaPai's back end or include any of its code or data. Some features, such as summaries, are only simulated. Validation so far covers tests, type checks and a local build. It is aimed at brokerages and research firms that want to run their own tools with the AI models of their choice.

What this is. Real projects where people used Claude to build, fix, port, revive or take apart something, from jailbroken Kindles to rebuilt DOS games, plus the times it went badly wrong. Every build links to where it was shared, and every source is listed here.

How far to trust it. We summarise what people reported and say what each build rests on: a full write-up with code, a short post, or a passing comment. We haven't tested them ourselves. Photos are shown from the original sources with credit. Only modify hardware you own, and back up first.
